Good Things Come to Those Who Wait…

Good things come to those who wait.

True.

Patience is a virtue.

Rome wasn’t built in a day.

True.

It is true that we need to see things through in life and stay the course to reap the rewards and collect our dividends, no question.

Too often in life people opt out just before the windfall is due to come their way.  This is perhaps nowhere more true than with reference to our health and fitness.

In the seminars I give I reference this phenomenal of quitting just before results show up like standing in a crazy long queue waiting to be served.. waiting and waiting as the line shortens only to decide to leave the line when you’re next in line to be served… crazy right?  Yet we do this all the time around our nutrition and exercise habits.  We start Monday and by Wednesday we’re frustrated that we’re not drastically different than 3 days prior.  Crazy….

Too many people are not prepared to pay the price (of consistency and commitment) to get what they say they want.  Instead they would rather continue the cycle of wanting, starting, rebounding and repeating.  This strategy definitely keeps you busy I guess…

Good things come to those who wait.

True.

All true…except when they’re not.

Sometimes you need to stop being patient. Not with the results coming.. but with yourself for the complete BS you continue to feed yourself about why your results don’t show up .

Equally important though is to ensure you aren’t patiently and permanently flogging a dead horse… if you have stuck it out… don’t continue endless down the same path if it doesn’t lead you to your preferred destination.

And sometimes, just sometimes we can astound ourselves with the speed of our results (or the building of Rome if you will) when you commit 100% to the process that will get us there.   Doing something to 60% for 25% of the time required to get you there is obviously not going to deliver the results you seek… but heres the thing… doing something at 100% for 100% of the time required will remarkably always deliver you 100% of the desired results. Amazing… or crazy? You decide

So be patient with your results showing up, but not your excuses.

Be prepared to commit 100% and give yourself the opportunity of complete transformation and remember everytime you are about to quit it might just be that your about to be served…

If you’re moving in the right direction be patient. If you are moving backwards or nowhere… get off that horse and call the vet.

So patience is a virtue and a curse.

Good things come to those who wait and those that chase what they want down doggedly.

And Rome wasn’t built in a day, but it was built by people who put in the hard yards and stayed the course…

Build yourself to your liking and take stock of your progress. Be patient when it’s necessary and proactive when it serves you… crazy? Maybe… but then crazy people change the world (and their bodies).
